| | Enjoyed a nice dinner with Mom & Daddy and Cathy & John. We didn't over indulge - had a nice assortment of food, good conversation and just a nice relaxing time. I roasted the turkey, did light appetizers and provided rolls and the bar. Cathy made stuffing, pies and did the gravy - I'll never get the hang of good gravy! Mom made mashed potatoes, mashed rutabaga and roasted carrots with some other root. All in all, it was a pleasant day. We spoke with Gina and Sarah on Thursday, and Corey called on Friday. It was good to hear from them and know that all is good in their lives. After being a lazy bum on Friday, I had a good time sewing on Saturday and Sunday. I finished p.j.'s for Gina and Sarah, finished Gina's apron, and got a good start on Sarah's apron. Next will be Katherine and Sean's p.j.'s and then some kind of gift-card holder for Rob & Justin. Sarah's box of goodies arrived yesterday. She was very pleased because her dryer is out of commission, so the 3 holiday shirts meant she could go another couple days without going to Betty's to dry! Justin was also pleased to see the little bottle of Crown - he'd had a bad day and it was just the thing Oh, and I read Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher over the weekend too. Pretty good book, but it was sometimes hard to read because it was written in old english dialect. We get so used to "American" English, that reading real English gets a little difficult LOL. I also finished The Pilot's Wife by Anita Shreve. It was also a good book, although I was a little disappointed in the ending. |
